Sondrio and Valtellina...

Valtellina lies a few kilometres from Milan, in the heart of the Alps and on the border with Switzerland. It can be reached from the south passing by Lake Como; from the north across the Alpine passes, the majority of which are open all year.

Great part of the territory, which is run through by the Adda river, is recognised today as a protected area, with many reserves and some natural monuments. Standing out amongst these is the Stelvio National Park, the most extensive of the Alps, and the Regional Park of the Valtellina Orobie on the north side of the Orobie Alps.

Winter in Valtellina

The Valtellina ski area is spread over more than 400 kilometres of slopes, served by 112 ski lifts and provided with modern structures also for snowboard enthusiasts, for cross-country skiing and for walks with snow shoes. The winter offer is completed by several ice-skating rinks, many of which are covered, and tracks for sledge-dogs.

Summer in Valtellina

Colours and pleasant temperatures make Valtellina the ideal setting for excursions on foot or by mountain bike. Alpinism, with peaks exceeding 4000 m; climbing, with varying grades of difficulty; Canyoning and rafting, which can be practised in the crystalline torrents; golf courses surrounded by vineyards and at the foot of the Alps...this is Valtellina!
